Touch Points in Community Health: Pan-Viral Testing and Linkage to Care in Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centers

March 18 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Join HealthHIV and expert panelists for an interactive live webinar to exchange ideas on opportunities and challenges of implementing pan-viral testing and linkage to care within Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centers. Emergency medicine physicians, Kimberly Stanford, MD, MPHEthan Cowan, MD, MS, and Immediate Past President of the AMA, Jesse Ehrenfeld, MD, MPH, FAMIA, FASA, will discuss the need for pan-viral (HIV, HBV, HCV, and STIs) testing and linkage to care in EDs and UCCs, and share evidence-based standards of care for pan-viral testing.

Over the course of this 1.5 credits/contact hours certified activity, key topics will include:

  • Importance of EDs and urgent care as community touch points for pan-viral testing (e.g. meeting impacted populations where they are)
  • Understanding prevalence of HIV, HBV, HCV, and STIs in your community
  • Evidence-based care guidance and recommendations for HIV, HBV, HCV, and STIs
  • Implementation of testing algorithms and test interpretation
  • Effective strategies for patient follow-up and linkage to care/treatment

This webinar will include participant polling, live Q&A, and links to additional resources, as well as more information about how you may be able to participate in individualized capacity building and coaching support from HealthHIV to implement pan-viral testing and linkage to care. This is the second of a three-part webinar series that will provide critical information and guidance and implementation models for pan-viral testing and linkage to care in student health centers, emergency departments, and urgent care settings.
